“Burning Kentucky” holds open auditions in Paducah
People hoping to make an appearance on the big screen had the chance to audition for a movie in Paducah on Wednesday.
Seven remaining parts were up for grabs in the upcoming film “Burning Kentucky,” to be shot this summer entirely in the bluegrass state. Auditions took place at Paducah City Hall. Producers said they were looking for both male and female actors between the ages of 9 and 60.
The director said the city has been very accommodating for her staff.
“The entire community has been really supportive. Even though it’s Quilt Week, and the town is bustling, they’ve made room for us and we love Paducah,” said Bethany Brooke Anderson, the director and writer for the film.
Anderson said she wants to help support the film industry in Kentucky, considering she is from Lexington.
