The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) Mid-America announced on Thursday that Daytime EMMY award-winning game show host Todd Newton has been tapped to host the 38th annual EMMY Awards Gala presented by Branson and Silver Dollar City. For the second time in history of the awards, the gala returns to Kansas City, Missouri. It will be held September 27th in the Grand Hall of the Kansas City Convention Center.

For more than a decade Newton has been a fixture on television hosting popular game shows like Whammy, The All-New Press Your Luck, The Price is Right Live, Hollywood Showdown, Instant Millionaire, and his most recent hit, Family Game Night airing in primetime on the HUB Network. Todd was also a red carpet celebrity interviewer and host for E! Entertainment Television for more than 12 years.

“I’m excited to have Todd back to emcee the gala,” said NATAS Mid-America Chapter President Stacey Woelfel. “Many people, including me, consider him to be one of the best hosts we’ve ever had at the event.”

Newton previously hosted the gala in 2002 and 2003.
