Murray State extends Prohm, Hatcher, Ward 1 year
MURRAY, Ky. (AP) – Murray State athletic director Allen Ward has announced one-year contract extensions for men’s basketball coach Steve Prohm and football coach Chris Hatcher that leave both with four-year deals.
Prohm’s contract runs through May 31, 2018; Hatcher’s deal expires Dec. 31, 2017. The school also extended Ward’s contract by one year.
Prohm’s Racers claimed the CollegeInsider.com Tournament championship, winning five straight to finish 23-11 and bring a trophy to the Bluegrass State. He has 75 wins over three seasons.
Hatcher is 24-21 in four seasons at Murray State and has produced at least one All-American player each year while keeping the program competitive in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Racers beat Jacksonville State and Eastern Kentucky in the same year for the first time last season, both in overtime.
