Four Cardinals make 2014 All-Star roster
The St. Louis Cardinals will be well represented in the 2014 MLB All-Star Game in Minnesota. Redbirds catcher Yadier Molina received the most fan votes for the catcher slot, and will start for the National League.
Adam Wainwright is also headed to Minneapolis for the Midsummer Classic. Wainwright is 11-4 this season, it’s his third trip to the All-Star Game.
Relief pitcher Pat Neshek is making his first appearance at the All-Star Game, he’s 2-0 in 40 appearances for the Cardinals this season.
The Redbirds third baseman Matt Carpenter will be making his second All-Star appearance, as a reserve.
And Chicago Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro is in, he’s batting .290 with 11 home runs and 50 runs batted in this year. It’s his third trip to the All-Star Game in five big league seasons.
