Livingston County Sheriff’s Department: Man forces way into estranged wife’s vehicle and steals it

A Smithland, Kentucky man was arrested after he allegedly forced his way into and stole his estrange wife’s vehicle.

The woman told the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department that her estranged husband, 46-year-old Timothy Chittenden forced his way into her vehicle and forced her to drive to a location in Smithland.

Once at the location, Chittenden wouldn’t allow his estranged wife to leave. She was eventually able to get away from him on foot.

Chittenden then took her vehicle and personal belongings and drove away. He was later arrested without incident and the vehicle was found.

Chittenden is lodged in the McCracken County Jail on charges of Theft by Unlawful Taking Over and Unlawful Imprisonment.
