Eggner’s Ferry Bridge to be open to traffic Monday night

UPDATE: The Monday overnight closure of the Eggner’s Ferry Bridge has been canceled. The bridge will be open to traffic Monday night.

At this time no other closures are scheduled.

ORIGINAL STORY: If you plan to travel across the Eggner’s Ferry Bridge Monday night, December 8, you’ll need to find another route. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will close the bridge starting at 9 p.m. Monday. The bridge will reopen to traffic at 5 a.m. the following morning.

KYTC officials say crews need to close the old bridge to work on the new bridge connecting Marshall and Trigg counties in western Kentucky.

As construction continues, the contractor anticipates a need to close the bridge overnight about once a week for the next few months. The contractor will provide 48 hour notice on future overnight closures.
