Treatment center halts clients after escapes
A troubled Louisville juvenile treatment center that has a history of escapes has stopped taking new clients after three teenagers who recently fled from the facility have become suspects in a home burglary and vehicle theft.
The Daily Times (http://bit.ly/1xXr85r) reports the 16-year-old boys escaped last month from Helen Ross McNabb Gateway Center and are still at large.
They are among a number of teens who have escaped this year from the center, which has also had to deal with other issues, like assaults.
Records from the Blount County E-911 Communications Center show the Blount County Sheriff’s Office has responded to the facility 41 times this year. Missing juvenile reports have been the second-most-common call since Jan. 1. They account for 11 of those 41 responses.
