Second Old Ledbetter Bridge pier still standing

Crews are still working to pull the top off the second Old Ledbetter Bridge pier.

After two days of work, the pier is still standing.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the demolition crew tried pulling over the pier several times on Monday and Tuesday.

Crew members even chipped away some of the concrete just above the water line in an effort to weaken the pier.

The first pier was toppled over the week before.

The demolition crew is planning another pull first thing Wednesday morning.
