Illinois police investigating ‘suspicious’ death at West City hotel

Illinois State Police, the West City Police Department and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office are investigating what they are calling the “suspicious death” of a man in a West City hotel.

The Franklin County Coroner’s Office released a statement saying 27-year-old Steven Scott of Benton, Ill. was found unresponsive Tuesday night at the Magnuson Hotel. A family member was performing CPR when authorities arrived.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
