As temperatures continue to drop across our region, more people are calling in sick from work and school.

Nurse Practitioner Kathy Phelps at Quick Care Four Rivers Internal Medicine in Paducah reports influenza, upper respiratory infections, and strep throat.

Dr. William Conyer, at Baptist Health Prime Care reports influenza and common colds.

Dr. Nicholas O’Dell at Murray Medical Associates is seeing lots of upper respiratory illnesses, laryngitis with coughing, influenza, and a nasty flu-like illness that lasts up to 5 days.

Nurse Practitioner Rhonda Darnell at Marshall County Family Medical is seeing a stomach virus, bronchitis, and sore throats.

Dr. Daisy Benigno in Fulton, Kentucky reports upper respiratory infections and gastroenteritis.

Dr. Brian Harrison in Benton, Illinois reports an illness with flu like symptoms but no confirmed flu yet. He says sinus infections are also common.

Dr. Zayd Ahmed at SIU Family Medical in Carbondale reports sore throats, chest congestion and bronchitis, and ear aches.

Dr. Walter Fletcher in Martin, Tennessee is treating a small number of influenza cases, but mostly that flu like virus that lasts about 3 – 4 days.
