Man arrested and charged with Charleston robbery

A Charleston, Missouri man was arrested for robbery on Sunday.

The Charleston Police Department got a call just before noon of an armed robbery at the Flying J Travel Center at 2460 East Marshall Street.

The robber fled the area on foot and a Missouri State Highway Patrol K-9 unit was brought to the scene.

The K-9 unit tracked the suspect to the Charleston Health Club where a trooper and deputy noticed that a rear door to the health club was ajar.

Officers found 41-year-old Richard Ware inside the building with items that connected him to the robbery.

He was arrested and taken to the Mississippi County Jail. Ware is charged with one count of robbery, two counts of burglary, and is being held on $200,000 bond.
