Car accident sends three to the hospital; driver arrested for DUI

An accident in the 4400 block of Lovelaceville Road in Paducah sent three to the hospital Thursday night.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department says 31-year-old Ashlee Koster of Paducah, and her 5-year-old daughter, were traveling westbound on Lovelaceville Road when Koster crossed over into the eastbound lane of traffic and hit a car being driven by 24-year-old Felicia Rixie of Grantsburg, Illinois.

Koster, her daughter, and Rixie were all taken to area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies spoke with Koster at the hospital and determined she was under the influence of alcohol and medication at the time of the accident. She was arrested and is charged with driving under the influence, criminal mischief, assault, and wanton endangerment.

The road was closed for about 2 hours.
