2 die in southern Illinois crash

Franklin County, Illinois Coroner Marty Leffler told Local 6 two people died in two separate crashes on Route 37 just south of Benton.

Leffler says Nicholas Doyle, 23, of Benton died from injuries he sustained during a head-on collision.  A female driver involved with the crash was airlifted from the scene and taken to a hospital in St. Louis.  Her condition is unknown.

Leffler says a second death occurred when Forrest Hudson, 42, of Benton, Illinois came upon the crash on Route 37.  Hudson tried to avoid the crash site, but over corrected, lost control of his vehicle and was ejected.
