Daughter to replace father as commonwealth attorney

G.L. Ovey’s daughter, Carrie Ovey-Wiggins, will take over for her father as the commonwealth’s attorney for the 56th Judicial Circuit of Kentucky.

Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear made the appointment on Friday.

Ovey will step down from the position on January 1st. He announced he was leaving the office earlier this year.

Carrie Ovey-Wiggins has worked in Ovey’s office for the past several years.
