Crittenden County home destroyed by fire

A 91-year-old woman and her adult son are searching for a new home after a fire destroyed theirs on Monday.

Danny Joyce, who wasn’t home at the time, says his mother was on the phone when a grease fire got out of control.

Fire crews tried to save their home along state route 295 in Dycusburg, but it wasn’t possible.

Before fire engulfed the entire home, Danny was able to get inside to save a few things.

“When I got here there was so much smoke you couldn’t get in. I got, went up there and got a few things, couldn’t get much it as so smokey,” said Danny Joyce.

Danny’s mother, Francis, was taken to a local hospital but later released.

Both are staying with family members.
