First AirAsia crash victim ID’d and returned to family
Wind and rain continue to hamper the search for victims and wreckage from AirAsia Flight 8501.
Nine bodies have been recovered since the plane carrying 162 people crashed into the Java Sea on Sunday while flying from Indonesia to Singapore.
The first victim to be identified and returned to her family was buried today.
Singapore’s navy has sent an unmanned underwater vehicle to try to locate the wreckage, and more than 50 ships are scouring the area with high-tech detection equipment.
