Characters brave cold weather for New Year’s tradition

Twenty-three divers took the plunge New Year’s Day at Mermet Springs.

That included Captain America, Shrek, and Minnie Mouse.

This is the 18th year for Mermet Springs’ New Year’s Day Polar Plunge.

The owner Glen Faith says he keeps the tradition because it’s a fun, exciting way to kick off the new year and set the tone for the rest of 2015.
