31-year-old Christopher Qurvon West was found shot to death in his car Sunday evening. The shooting closed down US 61.

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety says an investigation into the shooting found that West had a physical altercation with 29-year-old Gailon Applewhite at Westside Liquor around 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. The altercation seems to stem from an ongoing feud between the two men.

West was found dead in his car less than two hours later.

A witness of the shooting identified Applewhite and another man, 27-year-old William Henry-Applewhite III, as two of the three people in the suspect vehicle where the shots came from and killed West. The suspects may have been searching for West to retaliate for the previous assault.

Both Applewhite and Henry were charged with Murder in the 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action. Both men are still at large, and considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (573) 471-1500 or the Anonymous Tip Line at (573) 471-4711.
