Meth lab found in Illinois motel room

Two people were arrested after an active methamphetamine lab was found in a motel room.

The West Frankfort Police Department says the meth lab was found in a room at the Gray Plaza Motel on 1010 West Main Street.

A two-year-old child was also in the room.

22-year-old Ariel Booton and 26-year-old Timothy Carr were arrested. The child was taken into protective services.

Both Booton and Carr had been charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Materials, and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine Precursors.

More charges are pending.
