Land Between the Lakes Eagle Tours

Friends of Land Between The Lakes are hosting their tenth annual bald eagle river cruise this weekend.

Dozens of people spent Sunday afternoon enjoying the sun and spotting bald eagles.

While the warmer temperatures are nice for us, naturalist Shannon Brockway said bald eagles don’t mind the cold.

“They’ve got their feathers, they’ve got good protection from the elements, so the cold doesn’t bother them as it might us,” Brockway said.

Brockway said January is the best time to view bald eagles in our area.

“The boat can kind of drift by and it’s not going to frighten them as much so we can get some wonderful views,” Brockway said.

The Captain of the CQ Princess Paul Masterson said out here you can see anywhere from 20 to 60 eagles in one cruise.

You can catch the last cruise at Land Between the Lakes Monday at  11 a.m. Van eagle tours will also be going on the rest of this month.
