1 dead in Pemiscot County shooting

Three people have been arrested as suspects in a weekend shooting that killed a man.

The Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Office says Sunday morning gunshots were fired in the 200 block of North Martin Luther King Drive in Hayti Heights.

Based on the investigation, Sheriff Tommy Greenwell says several gunshots were fired between four people. Several cars were hit as well as two apartment buildings.

20-year-old Cedriceon Stewart of Hayti Heights died from gunshot wounds.

Three people have been arrested as suspects in the shooting.

Two of those people were arrested after being in a two hour standoff with law enforcement.

The standoff ended at 11:30 p.m. Sunday night at a home in Kennett, Missouri.

25-year-old Samuel Carnell Jones Jr. of Columbia, Missouri and 29-year-old Arthur Liddell of Hayti, Missouri were arrested.

Jones is charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Armed Criminal Action, and Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (Marijuana).

Liddell is charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

18-year-old Demario Mitchell of Hayti, Missouri was also arrested on Sunday. He is charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

All three are being held without bond.
