Four arrested after an early morning traffic stop
Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon reports that 4 persons were arrested on St Rt 1241 in the Folsomdale area around 1:50 hrs, 02-01-15.
The arrests occurred after Deputy George Workman stopped a vehicle allegedly driven by David Reeves (44 yrs of age) of Arlington. Deputy Workman stopped the vehicle when he noticed the rear license plate was not illuminated. Upon approach to the vehicle, Deputy Workman noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage.
Mr Reeves submitted to some field sobriety tests and Deputy Workman placed him under arrest for DUI.
Deputy Workman then returned to the vehicle to search for any alcohol or drugs that led to the condition of the operator. Deputy Workman noticed a pill bottle lying in the center console area. He asked Ms April Reeves for the bottle. She allegedly took the bottle from the console area, took the top off it and tossed out a pill. Deputy Workman noticed this and recovered the pill. Ms Reeves claimed that the pill bottle was Mr Reeves prescription.
Deputy Workman additionally charged Mr Reeves with Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree for the pill. Mr Reeves said he did not know who the pill belonged to.
Deputy Workman then placed Ms April Reeves (40 yrs of age), of Arlington, under arrest for Tampering With Physical Evidence, Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Ms Reeves would not comply with Deputy Workman’s commands to get out of the vehicle so that he could effect the arrest. Deputy Workman had to remove her by force from the vehicle. Deputy Workman additionally charged her with Resisting arrest. Once Deputy Workman got her out of the vehicle, He noticed a large knife concealed in the floor of the vehicle below where she was previously seated. He additionally charged her with Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
Deputy Workman then placed Mr Shannon McFarland (24 yrs of age) of Hardin, under arrest for Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place. Mr McFarland would not comply with Deputy Workman’s orders to get out of the vehicle. He also had to be removed from the vehicle. He was additionally charged with Resisting arrest. Deputy Richard Edwards arrived at the scene.
Deputy Workman placed Ms Autumn Hunter (27 yrs of age) of Mayfield, under arrest for Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place. Deputy Edwards ordered her out of the vehicle many times and she would not comply. Deputy Edwards had to remove her by force as well. She was additionally charged with Resisting arrest as well.
All four were taken to Graves County Jail, where they remain pending bond.
