Four arrested in string of church burglaries

Four men have been arrested and charged with multiple church burglaries in Union County, Illinois.

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler Edmonds says at least six churches were burglarized including:

– Salem Lutheran Church, Jonesboro
– First Lutheran Church, Dongola
– United Missionary Baptist Church, rural Union County
– New Hope Baptist Church, rural Union County
– Ebenezer Hall Cumberland Presbyterian Church, rural Union County
– Saratoga Church, rural Union County

The four men were arrested by the Marion Police Department in January. Facing charges are:

– Garret Green of Creal Springs with two counts Burglary and two counts of Theft. Bond set at $50,000
– Aaron Henderson of Marion with four counts of Burglary and two counts of Theft. Bond set at $75,000.
– Kaleb Terry of Marion with six counts of Burglary and four counts of Theft. Bond set at $100,000.
– George Smith of Herrin with six counts of Burglary and four counts of Theft. Bond set at $100,000.

All four men are being held in the Williamson County Jail.
