Train hits semi, no one injured

A semi pulling a trailer was hit by a train in Carlisle County Wednesday morning.

Kentucky State Police say the semi was hit on the tracks at County Road 1305 just off US Highway 51 North.

The driver told troopers he looked both ways before crossing the tracks, but that the sun was in his eyes. As he was crossing the tracks, he saw the train coming and sped up to try to get off the tracks.

The snow plow on the front of the train clipped the rear end of the semi trailer causing minor damage.

There are no signals at that crossing.

No one was injured and the train did not derail.
