Traffic stop leads to Calvert City man’s drug arrest

On February 13, 2015 at approximately 8:50 PM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Lone Oak Road and Bleich Road for expired registration plates. Deputies found that the driver of the vehicle was a Mr. Cody Scott, 31 years of age from Calvert City.

Further investigation revealed that Mr. Scott was operating his vehicle under the influence of Methamphetamine. Deputy S. Croft responded to the scene with his Partner K9 Pepo. K9 Pepo alerted to the vehicle indicating that drugs were present inside. A search of the vehicle revealed several items of drug paraphernalia. Deputies also found a quantity Methamphetamine, several Methylphenidate pills (a stimulant used to treat ADHD), along with additional drug paraphernalia on Mr. Scott’s person. Mr. Scott was placed under arrest and lodged at the McCracken County Jail.

Arrested: Mr. Cody K. Scott, 31 years of age from Calvert City

Charges:
–    No registration plates

       No registration receipt

       Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs/ect  1st offense

       Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, second offense (Methamphetamine)

       Possession of a controlled substance 2nd degree, first offence

       Drug paraphernalia-  Buy / Possess
