Facilities still closed at Land Between The Lakes

Officials at the Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area say snow and ice accumulated on roadways are making driving there dangerous, and facilities will remain closed for now.

Area Supervisor Tina Tilley says the facilities won’t be opened to the public until next week.

More winter weather is predicted for the weekend along with rain, and Tilley says that will make travel conditions worse.

Updates will be posted online here.

The Elk and Bison Prairie, Golden Pond Visitor Center and Planetarium, Turkey Bay OHV Area and Wranglers Campground remain closed.

Land Between The Lakes manages more than 170,000 acres in western Kentucky and Tennessee.
