Ice contributes to single-vehicle crash

At  6:15 A.M. the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the 6400 block of Old US60 for a single vehicle accident.

Maria J. Blue, 40 years of age, of Paducah was traveling east on Old US60 when she hit a large area of ice causing her to lose control of her 2005 Toyota Camry. Mrs. Blue exited the roadway turning over on her side after hitting a concrete culvert headwall.

Both Mrs. Blue and her passenger Nyla Blue, 16 years of age, of Paducah was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Both were extracted by mechanical means.

The Concord Fire Department, Mercy Regional and Jason’s Collision assisted at the scene.
