Mississippi County man charged with forgery

A Mississippi County man has been charged with forgery.

Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore says an investigation began last month when a resident reported that several checks had been stolen from him and passed at local businesses.

Surveillance video was obtained by deputies from one of the businesses and 57-year-old Bruce Penrod was identified as a suspect.

Penrod was arrested on Thursday and charged with Forgery.

He remains in the Mississippi County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.
