Large amount of marijuana and cash found during search of Hopkins County home

A Madisonville man was arrested after police found more than five pounds of suspected marijuana in his home.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office says a search warrant was executed in the 400 block of Booker T. Washington Boulevard in Madisonville.

Inside the home, deputies found more than five pounds of suspected marijuana, packaging consistent with drug trafficking, drug paraphernalia, and cash.

31-year-old Kevin Sharp was arrested on one count of Trafficking in Marijuana greater than 5 lbs., one count of Acquire Property Enterprise from Income from Trafficking in Controlled Substance, and one count of Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess.

He was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
