Cold weather being blamed for death of Hickman man

The Fulton County coroner says a man from Hickman died Thursday morning from the cold.

Coroner Matt Moss says 60-year-old Joe Duty’s vehicle slid off the road on 7th Street and he was seen walking in the direction of his home around 3:00 a.m. Thursday.

His body was found up against a business around 3:00 p.m.

Moss says Duty’s death was a direct result of being out in the cold. He did not have any injuries from the crash and was in a thin layer of clothes at the time.

No one else is believed to have been involved in the crash.
