Winter Business Blues

Snow looks behind us, but some businesses are still recovering from those snow-days.

Bob’s Drive-In Owner, Neil Ward said this winter has just been brutal for business.

“This has been the toughest one in many years that we’ve had,” Neil said.

He said they’ve had to stay closed at least three days this winter. It may not seem like a lot, but Ward said it’s the most they’ve closed in the last 10 years all together.

“Five years ago, when we had the ice storm it lasted for about a week. This has lasted for a couple of weeks,” Ward said.

He said snow’s made business slow.

“Selling ice cream, one thing you don’t have to worry about is it melting, but you don’t have that many opportunities to sell it,” Ward said.

He may clear the drive-in every time it snows, but what keeps his business going for 66 years are customers he can count on like Tom Souders.

Souders has been coming to  Bob’s Drive-In since 1968

“I came here on a double date with the wife I’m married to now,” Souders said.

Souders said he likes to come about every week and order a Fiesta Burger.
