High school student killed in crash

A Tennessee high school student was killed in a vehicle crash early Monday morning.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a pickup truck was traveling east on Lower Sharon Road just five miles west of Dresden when it hit an icy patch.

The truck slid off the road and hit a concrete culvert before rolling onto the driver’s side and catching on fire.

The driver, 16-year-old Bobby Goodman, was killed in the crash.

The Weakly County School District says Bobby was a sophomore at Dresden High School.

School principal Chuck West says counseling services will be available for students and staff.
