Father arrested and charged after son was found unresponsive in bathtub

A Hardin, Kentucky man has been arrested for endangering the life of an infant.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to the Hilldale Apartments in Hardin just before 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Inside the apartment, deputies found a 6 month old baby unresponsive in the bathtub.

The father of the baby, 30-year-old John Mikulich, says he was watching the baby and another child while the baby’s mother was at work.

Deputies say it appeared that Mikulich was under the influence as he had slurred speech and keep falling asleep while deputies conducted their investigation.

Mikulich told the deputies he had no idea how the infant ended up in the bathtub.

The baby was taken to the Marshall County Hospital and later flown to Kosairs Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

Mikulich was also found to be trespassing. He admitted to the deputies that he was not suppose to be on the property.

Mikulich was charged with Wanton Endangerment and Criminal Trespass.

An investigation is ongoing.
