Schools making up lost time due to snow

Mayfield Independent schools are extending their school days and adding in make-up days because of all the snow.

The district says it has to make up 10 school days.

The first two make-up days will be April 2nd and 3rd which were the first two days of Spring Break. The remainder of Spring Break will remain intake.

After Spring Break, students will be making up the time with longer school days. 33 minutes will be added to each school day.

Mayfield High School will have classes start at 7:30 a.m. and will dismiss at 3:03 p.m.

Mayfield Middle School will also start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 2:58 p.m.

Mayfield Elementary School will start at 7:44 a.m. and dismiss at 3:07 p.m.

Morning Preschool/Head Start classes will remain the same. Afternoon Preschool/Head Start will begin at 12:15 p.m. and end at 3:38 p.m.

Students will still get off Election Day, May 19th, and Memorial Day, May 25th.

The last day of school will be Friday, May 29th.
