Deadly motorcycle wreck kills one

A motorcycle rider was killed after she was hit by a car.

The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office says on Sunday they responded to a three vehicle accident at the intersection of KY 80 and KY 299.

Deputies say a car was traveling south on KY 299, while two motorcycles were heading east on KY 80.

The driver of the car told deputies that she stopped at the stop sign on KY 299 and did not see the motorcycles approaching. She then started to cross KY 80 and hit both motorcycles.

All three were taken to a local hospital.

One of the motorcycle riders, 38-year-old Shanna Litchfield of Farmington, was pronounced dead at the hospital from injuries she sustained in the crash.

There is no word on the condition of the other motorcycle rider or the driver of the car.
