One killed in mobile home fire

 The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department said one person died inside a mobile home when it caught fire. The Sheriff said deputies responded to the call around 1:40 a.m. Thursday morning. Deputies say it happened at a home inside the Raccoon Valley Mobile Home Park in Makanda, Illinois. 

Two people were able to escape the home and taken to an area hospital for treatment. The third person was found dead inside the home. 

Authorities are not releasing the names of the people involved until family is notified.

The State Fire Marshall and Jackson County Coroner’s Officer is investigating the cause of the fire.
