Middle school teacher assaulted by student

The Paducah Police Department says a Paducah Middle School teacher was assaulted Wednesday by a 14-year-old student.

Megan Jones-Story told police she saw the teenage boy assaulting a 14-year-old girl in her classroom.

She said she came up behind the boy and wrapped her arms around him to pull him off the girl.

Jones-Story said that the boy slammed her into a chalkboard, trying to free himself, and then turned and hit her in the head.

The boy then went back to attacking the girl.

Jones-Story was taken by a co-worker to a local hospital for treatment.

Charges against the boy will be sought.
