Name of woman killed in Makanda fire released

The Jackson County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the woman killed in a trailer fire in Makanda, Illinois.

Dr. Thomas Kupferer said 38-year-old Jennifer Wright died as a result of smoke inhalation.

The fire broke out early Thursday morning inside a trailer at the Raccoon Valley Mobile Home Park.

Two people were able to escape.

The exact cause of the fire is still unknown.
