Workshops being offered to those being displaced by closing hospital

In a few days, Parkway Regional Hospital will be closed and many of its employees will be out of work.

To help those who are losing their jobs, the Kentucky Career Center is offering two workshops. The workshops will help dislocated employees prepare for life after the layoff.

The first workshop will be held on Wednesday, April 1st at the Fulton Public Library from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The second workshop will be held on Thursday, April 2nd from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Mayfield Career Center.

The workshops will cover resume writing, search tips, networking skills, interviewing techniques, and how to develop an action plan for reemployment.

In addition to the workshops, the Purchase Area Development District is holding a special health insurance enrollment event on Wednesday, April 1st from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Fulton Health Department. Anyone who has questions or needs assistance getting enrolled for health insurance is encouraged to attend.
