2 year-old dies in house fire

Kentucky State Police is currently investigating a deadly fire in Princeton, Kentucky.  

On Friday, KSP received a call from the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department requesting assistance with a fire investigation.  At 10:35 p.m., the sheriff’s department received a call of a travel-trailer fire on Bright Hill Road.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Brandon Hayes, 28, Princeton, and his three children Eric, 8, Dorian, 4, and Marley, 2, were sleeping in a travel-trailer when the fire started.  

After the fire was extinguished, Marley was found inside the trailer dead.  Eric was flown to Vanderbilt for treatment. Mr. Hayes was transported to the Caldwell Medical Center where he was treated and released.  Dorian was not injured.  

The cause of the fire is under investigation.  However, it is not suspicious in nature and foul play is not suspected.
