Princeton man charged with distribution of child porn

Princeton police say they arrested a man on charges of distribution of child pornography early Monday afternoon.

The department says Princeton detectives arrested Darrell J. Oden, 45, at 12:10 p.m., charging him with five counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor as a result of an investigation that began early this month.

Princeton police say they received information from the Hopkinsville Police Department Computer Crimes Unit on April 7 that it had detected and intercepted images of child pornography that were being downloaded to a computer IP address in Princeton. Police detectives in Princeton began investigating, and they got a warrant for Oden’s West Main Street address. Detectives seized a laptop, external hard drives and flash drives from Oden’s home.

Oden was jailed in the Caldwell County Jail. Police say they expect to make additional charges once a forensic examination of the laptop is completed.
