ISP investigating stabbing at assisted living facility

Illinois State Police are investigating a stabbing at an assisted living facility in Tamms, Illinois.

Troopers say they were called to the H&S Shelter Care facility Tuesday evening on reports of a man with a knife.

A resident of the facility had apparently stabbed two people and was still armed inside the facility.

Two troopers and a Village of Tamms police officer entered the building and was able to apprehend the suspect without further incident.

The suspect, 41-year-old Jule Woods, was arrested for aggravated battery. He is being held in the Tri-County Detention Center.

The two victims were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

An investigation is ongoing.
