Man arrested and charged in deadly shooting

Police have arrested and charged a man in the death of Michael Reed.

The Marion Police Department says 30-year-old Michael Reed was shot Monday evening.

Reed was at his girlfriend’s house on West College Street when Jack Thomas Junior, the woman’s ex-boyfriend, shot and killed Reed.

Witnesses say the shooting was the result of a lovers’ quarrel.

Thomas is expected to be formally charged with three counts of first degree murder Wednesday morning.
