Gun used by suspect in standoff was stolen

Prosecutors say the gun used by the suspect in a standoff with police was stolen.

On Tuesday, Joshua Green was killed in a standoff in Marion, Illinois.

Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti says the gun Green used is a match for a gun taken in a home burglary in Creal Springs on April 23.

A bullet fragment has also been removed from a woman who was shot during the standoff. Police say the woman was used by Green as a human shield.

That fragment is being sent to a crime lab to determine is she was shot by police or Green.

The woman is in stable condition and is expected to recover.
