Kentucky man arrested for theft in McCracken County

A Kentucky man has been arrested for a theft in the Local 6 area.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department says 46-year-old Jeremy Caudle allegedly made arrangements to purchase a home in the 4700 block of Old Mayfield Road.

The owner of the home told deputies that he provided Caudle with $2,700 so that he could close on a loan and purchase the home.

After the alleged closing date, the victim tried to contact Caudle and discovered that Caudle had skipped town.

A warrant was issued for Caudle’s arrest and he was arrested in Livermore, Kentucky.

During their investigation, detectives discovered that other people in the area were also scammed by Caudle, but those incidents were determined to be civil issues and not criminal ones.

The detectives also say that Caudle appears to have a history of theft by deception dating back to the early 90’s.

Caudle was charged with theft by failure to make required disposition over $500 and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail. He also faces charges in Graves County.
