Update in shooting of 4-year-old boy

The Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office says the 4-year-old boy who was shot recently was placed in the custody of the Dunklin County Juvenile Office and the Missouri Children’s Division on Monday after evidence was present in court regarding the shooting.

Evidence was presented to Judge Mark Preyer in in the Division III Circuit Court of Dunklin County Monday, and the court placed the boy into the custody of the Dunklin County Juvenile Office and the Missouri Children’s Division. The juvenile office and the children’s division will work with the sheriff’s office until the investigation is complete. 

The shooting took place on Saturday in the south end of Dunklin County, Missouri, and the sheriff’s office says the boy is still in the hospital recovering from his injury.
