Local students say thanks to teachers for sacrifice and support

Teachers play a key role in your student’s success.  A simple “thanks” is all a teacher needs to feel valued.

This week is National Teacher Appreciation week. Local 6’s Mychaela Bruner visited a third grade class at Clark Elementary. This week they are taking time to personally thank their teachers for their sacrifices and support.

Mitzi Collins found her passion early on.

“They make me laugh constantly. I usually have two or three funny stories everyday,” said Collins.

For the past 16 years, Collins has called this 3rd grade classroom home.

“They are not just students to me, they are like a family,” said Collins.

One out of the 52 weeks every year, Collins and the rest of the teachers here at Clark Elementary are thanked for their dedication.  If you have a chance this week,  take time to personally thank your child’s teacher.

“This class I tell them all the time how much I love them, I wish I could go with them next year,” said Collins.
