Graves County mother arrested after young child was found alone across the street
A Graves County mother was arrested after her two-year-old son was found alone across the street.
The Graves County Sheriff’s Office says they received a call around 11:00 a.m. on Thursday from a homeowner on Central Road.
The homeowner said there was a small boy in their backyard and they did not know where he came from.
After about 40 minutes, deputies were able to identify a home where they thought the child might belong, which was across the street. After knocking on the door, deputies were let in by a three-year-old girl.
The mother of both children was asleep in a bedroom. When deputies asked her where her son was, she said she didn’t know.
Deputies also found a baggy of a green leafy substance which the woman told them was marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia.
Shaina Dillon was arrested for wanton endangerment, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Social services placed the children with family members.
