Crash caused by driver texting behind the wheel

Driving under the influence and texting is being blamed for a crash in Illinois.

Illinois State Police say 22-year-old Kayla Johnson of Rosiclare, Illinois, was driving on Pounds Hollow Road, just west of the entrance of Pounds Hollow Lake, when she exited the road and hit a fallen tree.

Troopers say Johnson was texting when she crashed. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Johnson has been charged with texting while driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
