Funeral for distillery explosion victim Kyle Rogers to be held Friday

Funeral services for Kyle Rogers, the Silver Trail Distillery worker who died Monday as a result of injuries sustained in an explosion there in April, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 15, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray.

The Calloway County native, who was 27 years old, was a third distiller at the Hardin distillery. He previously worked as a sports writer for the Murray State News for two years and as a substitute sports writer for the Murray Ledger and Times. 

Ricky Cunningham will officiate the funeral. Eulogies will be given by Shane Smith, Tim McAllister and Dustin Wilson. There will also be a white rose ceremony held by the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Visitation will be held on from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 14 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
